Datamaxx Continues To Innovate With Support For Windows 7 Slate Devices

Tallahassee, FL – (July, 2011) Datamaxx Group announced today that it has successfully tested their award winning Omnixx Suite on new Windows-based Slate devices.  As a valued Microsoft ISV Partner, Datamaxx consistently pursues new and innovative ways to bring necessary technology to the Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, and Homeland Security markets.  The proliferation of these newly available wireless form factors will revolutionize the way intelligence-led policing and information technology functions to protect our homeland.  Law enforcement and public safety officers will utilize untethered technology to get the job done faster and easier, adding a new weapon to their arsenal.  “The use of Windows-based Slate devices offers significant value to our customers whose jobs are mission-critical and mobile in nature,” stated Datamaxx CEO, Kay Stephenson.

Recent testing of the Datamaxx Omnixx Force Mobile client, which serves over 20,000 mobile law enforcement users, on the ASUS Slate running Windows 7, proves that the future of the mobililty market is in these types of form factors.  With the power of a PC or notebook, Windows 7 on Slate devices provides the necessary applications, battery life, multi-touch screen and onboard keyboard that mobile business and mission-critical users require today.  “The Windows 7 Slate devices are built for power users, not simply the casual Internet browsing and app store consumer.  We are very excited with our testing results and look forward to the release of Windows 8 which will offer even more functionality and flexibility to our customer base,” commented Stephani Miller, EVP of Marketing for Datamaxx.

Knowing that the mobile wireless world would rapidly change the face of law enforcement and public safety, Datamaxx invests a great deal of research and development to ensure they are on the forefront of these offerings, such as applications that operate on Windows Phone, Windows-based Slates and Tablets, etc.  Datamaxx customers should watch for upcoming announcements for new support of these form factors in the near future.  “Datamaxx technology is built on open industry standards, such as Microsoft operating systems and .NET, so providing support for Windows-based Slate and Tablet devices is a natural extension for us and one that will not require significant code changes,” stated Bill Lake, VP Engineering for Datamaxx.
